It's our safety stupid
By Daryl L. Hunter

6 out of 10 Americans are against President Bush's request for the 86 billion dollar investment that we to need make in Iraq and Afghanistan so these hotbeds of terror won't remain terrorist incubators that blame their home grown failure on the shining city on the hill.

These 6 out of 10 Americans have been sold a bill of goods by 9 of 10 democrat presidential candidates. These candidates needing a platform of opposition against President Bush have targeted his successful but controversial (to some) foreign policy in their effort to differentiate themselves from the President. These Presidential wannabes wish to discard our preemptive position against terror and reallocate the money for to domestic pandering to their myopic constituency citing the economy, public health and our own infrastructure as more important than a stable world which we must participate in as well as protect ourselves against. The inference of this position is they intend to not act on the knowledge we have learned from our past mistakes i.e. deserting Afghanistan in 1989, running with our tails tucked between our legs out of Somalia after losing 19 soldiers in 93, deserting the Shiites and Kurds in Iraq in 1991. All directly or indirectly contributing to the terrible result on 9-11-01.

Being politicians at the top of their gamesmanship they have made a convincing argument to financially cut and run on foreign policy. Being politicians at the top of their game they are putting their personal agenda of ambition ahead of the safety of their country by knowingly refocusing the public's eye on political canards instead of the real threat, suicidal Islamic fundamentalists and those that give them shelter. These wannabes wish to lead us into our former paper tiger status.

All democrat presidential wannabes are going to revive Clintion's successful 1992 mantra "It's the economy stupid". Well folks like it or not the ebb and flow of our economy's lifeblood "OIL" will greatly influence the success of failure of our economy. Our economy today is still reeling from the effects of 1999's oil price jump from $10 a barrel to $40 a barrel. We better do all we can to stabilize its flow because soon I believe we will be having a long overdue little chat with Saudi Arabia.

4 out of 10 Americans realize that without winning the peace in Afghanistan, and Iraq we increase the likelihood of domestic terror attacks by Islamic operatives which could possibly result in us not having an economy. They understand that our safety is our economy stupid
