A Utopian Health Care Plan

Time and time again governments the world over prove their ineptness and untrustworthiness with their citizens trust fund monies entrusted with them for social programs. Governments and their citizenry would be better off with government mandated but private savings investment accounts.

My lifetime health care solution would mandate every individual upon adulthood enter a government approved but private sector healthcare insurance program that would take care of them until death or until the citizen wished to switch to another carrier that would accept them.

Insurance actuaries (cost analyzers) would have to factor what a person would have to pay per month between startup at young adulthood and retirement age so that when they would retire they would no longer have to pay the monthly fee and would still be covered until death. Actuaries would have to estimate the lifelong cost and risk of every individual in the country then average it then figure a profit on top of that and not go broke.

Private lifetime health care insurance plans would be more cost effective than government plans as non-apathetic for profit bean counters would be in charge of the books and runaway costs would be kept in check by private sector competition. Private sector competition would inspire the best service in their quest for maximum amount of clients.

The cost of these plans would seem expensive but factoring the tax savings and government waste elimination we would actually have a more effective and cheaper system unencumbered by a wasteful government bureaucracy. Employee wages would increase as employers would no longer have to pay health insurance. Health plans of government workers would become private cutting the cost of government.

The weakness of the plan is that the nonproductive of our society would fall out of the program and imperil their own futures. If such failures were self inflicted by self-neglect they should be denied a government social safety net.

If this plan is implemented along with my other utopian ideas our country may escape the fate of all the great democracies of history.
