What If?

What if for instance we granted the northeastern United States including Michigan their liberal wish of the Socialism they have been trying to force upon us all, however the catch would be they would be annexed to Canada, a socialist style of government most north easterners envy. (Sorry New Hampshire).

This would kill two birds with one stone, it would give them the social programs they desire and it would rid us of the voters that want the rest of us to pay their way. It could serve as a model or threat to other liberal states (California, Oregon, Washington) what options we could present for them in for instance, twenty years if they continue their democratic slide into socialism.

As time goes by and Canadian Socialism falls on it's face, and our Republican States have had time to entrench self-determining American Constitutionalism we could give them the option of rejoining our union upon their denouncing their socialistic ways and acknowledging Socialism's failures.

This process would take place over decades, but it will give their Socialism Ideal a chance to run its course and discover it's predictable end while preserving the haven of an un-compromised Republican America as a firm bedrock form of government to return to. We would be re-admitting compromised and weakened states however this would be more favorable than their staying and weakening us all.
