Analysis of the 9th Amendment
Strange as it may seem to us, this is one of the two most important
Amendments to the Constitution in the original Bill of Rights.
Basically, what the 9th Amendment means is, any Rights that were not
specifically mentioned and/or written into the Constitution (and thus
also the Bill of Rights) were still considered to be held by individual
people at large.
This means that even if one of your God-given natural Rights was never
mentioned in either the Constitution or the Bill of Rights that you
still have that Right, and also that this Right cannot be watered down
by contradictory laws and/or regulations.
Note also that, by inference, this means that the Rights mentioned
in the Constitution and Bill of Rights were considered so important
that the Founding Fathers wanted to make -sure- that those Rights were
protected.
BTW, Enumeration is only a big word meaning "to list".
Let's try a modern approach. Remember, this is only one freedom lovers
opinion on what this Amendment means, however, the Founding Fathers
meant for the Constitution and the Bill of Rights to be understood
by everyone.
A Modern 9th Amendment
Even if the Constitution or the Bill of Rights does not specifically
mention rights which are held by the people, the people still have
those rights, and those rights shall not be denied or watered down.
