Louise was born in Douglas Arizona 4-10-1929 it didn't take Louise long to bring on the Great Depression. (Just joking Mom) dh.

Louise married Gene Hunter At 15 and had her first daughter Laura a year later on 8-31-1945. She had 4 more children before divorcing Gene Hunter and moving to San Luis Obispo CA to

stay with her parents and start over on her own. Louise's parents Leo Roy Saunders and Nora Belle Floyd (Saunders) were gracious enough to take us in and a year later desperate enough to purchase a new home for themselves, leaving us a nice home for us to grow up in.

As a single mother with 5 children Louise had no choice other than to go on welfare. However, she put it to good use and obtained a Masters Degree in Ornamental Horticulture from California Polytechnic University.

Upon graduation Louise tried teaching and found it wasn't her cup of tea. An adventure presented itself as a job offer, and she was off to Anchorage Alaska to drive a taxicab for a friend.

Taxi Driving was good for her so she bought a cab of her own. As a cab driving teamster she was positioned well for an early job on the Alaska Pipeline Project. Life Was Good.

one day talking to Louise while she was still in Alaska she told me she was living a wonderful adventure in Alaska and that if she ever died in a white water rafing accident or something to remember that she died enjoying herself in a grand adventure.

Later after the pipeline she became a landlord and real estate agent and that went well until the oil glut of 1987 that put 25% of Alaskans out of work. She reluctantly moved back to San Luis Obispo CA, a blessing in disguise.

Some time after moving back to CA, Louise met and Married Hank McDonald, a research scientist for Bell Labs who was instrumental in steering Bell Labs towards digital technology and away from analog technology. A move that enables me to work on my digital computer and upload genealogy websites onto a digital world wide network. Thanks Hank!

Louise died in July, 2009
